Busy Dude

Carter decided last night to put on his daddy's bandanna and his sister's roller skates to play. The skates didn't last long because he had no balance on our hardwood floor and I didn't want him to end up in the ER with a broken bone. He often gives us many laughs with his unpredictable "outfits".

Where Did the Week Go???

Wow, before I knew it, a full week had gone by... It seems like yesterday Josh was home from Kansas City and we were at my brother's wedding. That was such a great time!! Not too much happened this week for us. Carter started his first day of Sunday School this morning. Josh and I watched all three kids march across the street holding hands to the church. They looked so cute! Carter had a HUGE smile on his face...Where was the camera when I needed it? Then Josh and Carter farmed with "Gramps" and the girls and I had fun company, their cousin- Baby A and her mommy. I will post a picture tomorrow of Baby A. She is growing up fast and always carries a smile with her wherever she goes.

Tess and Ellie

Our cat Tess and our hedgehog Ellie met up close for the first time tonight. Tess wasn't too sure what to think at first but enjoyed snuggling as much as she could with such a pokey animal.

Busy Day and T.G.I.F.

It's HOMECOMING today so the kids are going to the parade. They are in their "game day" wear. After the parade- it's off to Sidney for my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner. Then Josh gets home later tonight-Yeah!! It will be a busy, fun day for all of us:)

Keeping My Fingers Crossed

The countdown is getting shorter as we eagerly await Josh's time to come home from Kansas City. Only today, Thursday, and Friday to get through until we see him! We are getting excited. Unfortunately Kylah had the flu Sunday so I kept her home from school on Monday. Then I sent her Tuesday because she felt better. Her teacher called at 11am and said she was running a fever! So...up to the school I went and picked her up. She hasn't had a fever since her first dose of Motrin but I decided to keep her home today for extra rest. I need her in full swing come Friday and Saturday for my brother's wedding. It seems like every time we have something important to be at, one of the kids is sick. Now I just pray my other two kids don't get sick and I stay up to par. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Ketchup Sandwiches

Carter had a choice of cinnamon toast, cereal, or yogurt for breakfast. He chose a ketchup sandwich, his all time favorite food. Josh and I thought this phase would pass shortly after it began, but needless to say, this phase started at the end of June and is still going strong...

Garden Goodies

Today is such a beautiful day to be outside. I was mowing the yard and Carter wanted to "farm". He took his little plastic wheel barrow out to our garden and loaded it up twice with garden goodies. He picked tomatoes and peppers and excitedly brought them home with Kaitlin to see how much he had. They put them on the picnic table and had to show off their collection.

Ohhh...Carter, Carter, Carter...

Tonight Carter wanted to eat powdered donuts because he just could not wait to have them in the morning for breakfast. I caved in...I think out of peer tiredness on my part, because the next thing I knew, I had dozed off and he was waking me up telling me he had a mask. Yep, he sure did- a white face full of powdered sugar from his donuts.

Bored Times Bring Goofy Ideas At Our House

This is for you Shay!!!

Still T.G.I.F.

Here it is Friday evening and not a plan for much of anything...Yep, I still said TGIF all day and now I wonder, why? Kaitlin is spending the night with her best friend so that leaves Kylah, Carter, and I at home to hang out. Josh is gone so I think a movie and popcorn and treats are in the picture... Tomorrow I get to go shopping in SB so that should be fun. My brother Chuck is getting married on September 20th and the kids want new outfits for the big day. We can't wait! He is marrying a very sweet person, Rachel who our family loves dearly. The kids are excited to go dancing at the reception. Josh will be back the night before so it will be nice to sit back and enjoy having a bunch of family around. We don't get to do that often enough and it is always a good time!

T.G.I.F. !!!

Have you ever noticed how we are all glad when Friday comes at the end of our work week and we are excited, no matter how our week has gone by? I notice I ALWAYS say TGIF even if I have had a great week. I am thinking the same thing this morning even though I have had a smooth week with my kids and daycare. Maybe because it knocks the days down to how much sooner Josh will be home from his training in Kansas City. It is very unusual for us not to have him around and we are now on day 6 without him:( We sure miss him lots, so he will be surrounded with hugs and kisses a week from now. ) We try not to dwell on his absence so he will be home that much quicker. I hope everyone has a great day and an exciting weekend!

We have an exciting day today for us...I get to watch my niece Baby B. The kids love playing with her and helping her find the cool toys to play with. Her favorite has to be the piano and kitchen set. Kait and Ky were excited to see her and I managed to catch a quick pic before B. took off again for the toys! Carter was still asleep so he didn't get in the pic with the girls. It's always fun to have a family member drop in for a day!

Preparing for School Pics

Whoever said that getting kids ready for school pics is easy must be mistaken! Tonight was the night for the kids to get their pics taken and things started out great. I got the girls' hair fixed and curled and sent Carter to put on his "nice" shirt. Instead he came back with pajama bottoms, sandals, and no shirt. After 3 attempts at putting his shirt on and him removing it, I was starting to get a little aggravated. Needless to say he wanted his "tattoo" he drew of a circle around his belly button to be in the pic. After bribery of his favorite treat- rainbow sherbet at the ice cream store, he was finally dressed and we were on our way. Then the crying started that he didn't want pics taken. He whined until it was our turn. Then his turn came....he didn't want the pics to stop....and whined the whole way home that he wanted more. I decided to take a detour for the rainbow sherbet and ice cream for the girls. Everyone was happy after that, especially ME! Peacefulness as they quietly ate their treat... It's a good thing pics are only once a year. I think they will turn out great. The kids put on their best smiles... I can't wait to see them.

*Before & After Pics*

After 4 yrs. of anticipation, we finally got around to knocking out two walls in our home to "open" up the living quarters...lots of work and much reward. It was a fun, exhausting time but was well worth it!
