Trick-or-Treating

Tonight we went out for our traditional trick-or-treating trip. Kaitlin was a pirate, Kylah a witch, and Carter was Batman. We got to bring Kylah's friend Macey with us and they had a blast! With Kaitlin being a 5th grader, she went with us for awhile and then met up with friends to collect more candy and then go to the haunted house at the rodeo grounds. Not me! I couldn't take them...Haunted houses freak me out!! Yikes and super scary is my outlook. After awhile Carter was getting tired and wanted to go home so Josh left with him while I continued taking Kylah and Macey door-to-door. Then we walked Macey home and headed to the last few houses on our way home. Kylah was so much fun to take around! Every scary mask or any scary person who tried to frighten her would end up making her laugh and she would say, "That's funny! Do it again!" Then we would walk to the next house and she would tell me how silly or funny that guy was...I had a great time tonight with them all. It makes me sad to realize Kaitlin is now at the age where she doesn't need or want her parents to take her to trick-or-treat. BOO-HOO! LOL...No really, it was a fun night and we enjoyed it. Now I am headed off to sneak a peek at the candy stash... Enjoy the slideshow below.

Pumpkin Night & Halloween

Happy Halloween to everyone! We will be trick-or-treating later tonight and then I will post some pics tomorrow for you to see. Enjoy your night and be safe. Enjoy the warm weather we are fortunate enough to have.

Auction and a trip to the Emergency Room

Hello all! We had a busy weekend of the Rudloff Auction all day Saturday and a brief pause from there to run Kaitlin to the emergency room in Chadron. She was busily playing in the barn and stepped on a board with a nail in it. The nail went thru her shoe and into the bottom of her foot. Ouch! Luckily some people were around and helped her until I could get there from across the road aways. We were expecting a tetanus shot but the nurses and doctor said we only need them every 10 yrs. So they gave her foot a good soak, put a band-aid on it and sent us to fill a prescription for her to take in case of infection. Then we headed back to the auction until it ended. The kids all played hard and had a great time- even Kaitlin went back and played until dark. It was a day full of memories for the Rudloff families. I am glad we were able to attend.

Bowling

Today is the girls' second week of bowling. Kaitlin has bowled for a few years and this year Kylah decided she wanted to try it out. They both enjoy it immensely. It is a great after school activity for them and they always come home full of stories, whether it's about their bowling scores, the snacks they ate, or the friends they had fun with. It seems like a perfect time to be enjoying an indoor activity, especially with the cold, brisk wind we have today. Hope all is well with everyone and you are staying warm. Burrr!!! To my nephew from us five- HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE!

Story Hour

Today is Carter's first time to go to Story Hour at the library. I think he will really enjoy it because he loves having books read to him. His little buddy and his daddy came over and picked him up. Carter was excited and eagerly waited for their car to pull in the drive-way. Then he hurried and got out the door as quick as possible and ran to their car, waiting for me to help him in so he could leave. I got him buckled in properly, gave him a quick kiss, and told him to have fun and behave. Then I headed up my porch steps with a some-what empty feeling. Then I thought to myself, geez Jody, it's only Story Hour. Get a grip! I guess the hardest thing for me is knowing how much my "baby" is growing up and knowing he is the last child for us. The days seem to go by too fast and before I know it, we are celebrating another birthday with one of our children. Hmmm...That's okay too I guess, knowing they are healthy, happy, and a big enjoyment to us. Maybe it's so hard on me because I have been fortunate enough to see each one of my children growing during their "younger" years.

Gracie's Halloween Costume

Rudy and Nicole found a great costume for Gracie to wear for Halloween! Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............................

Shooting Range

We went to the shooting range today. It was really chilly but that didn't stop Josh and Kaitlin from practicing for over an hour. Kylah, Carter and I stayed in the vehicle and watched a movie. Kaitlin ended up shooting a bulls eye and beating her dad. She was very excited and all smiles as we headed home.

Book Interest

Has anyone found this book in any stores called A Cedar Cove Christmas? I read this author's books and cannot find this one. It came out 9/30/08. I am interested in finding it. If you are a reader and enjoy fiction, I highly recommend Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove Series. You can go to http://www.debbiemacomber.com/ for the complete book list. It is a great series. Happy Reading!

Thought For the Day...

Snow's a Coming

The first snow of the year hit at Baby A's house in Wyoming this morning. We will probably see the white flakes sooner than later. Yay for the kids and Nay for me.

Massage

This afternoon I went to Healing Hands Wellness Center and had the best massage ever! My shoulders and neck were really sore so I decided to go and get "pampered." I loved it! I highly recommend this place to all of you. I have only had one massage before in Scottsbluff, which was great, but this one was even better. Amazing!

Kylah's Conversation

Kylah had dance class today. She came home and told Maggie about her dancing and her outing to Pizza Hut afterwards for supper.

Monday Already

I cannot believe it is Monday-AGAIN! It seems like I go to bed on Friday nights to wake up and have it be Monday mornings. No, I did get a lot done this weekend. I ended up throwing 14 stuffed bags of junk away so that was a relief. Yesterday, Josh, the kids, and I went to Hemingford to visit friends. That was fun. Then I went to a baby shower in the afternoon and had a good time. It's always fun to have many laughs and time away from home. I hope you all had a great weekend and have an even better week!

Cleaning Craze

Oh what a day! My brilliant mind came up with the idea to clean like a mad woman today and get rid of all the stuff we don't use. Carter and I have been throwing things away since 9am. We just threw our 9th stuffed garbage bag into the neighbor's truck to take to the dump later. Jeez, what a job!! My ideas always seem to take less time in my mind than actually doing them...so, off I go again to find more things to get rid of.

Halloween Countdown

The first thing Kylah asked me this morning was- Mom, how many more days until halloween? I told her and she then asked me again after school, so I decided to post a halloween countdown so she can look and see how much longer she has to wait.
